When claiming a POPS/SOS/JOS/JOES Record, list each jumper’s POPS/SOS/JOS/JOES number and name. List the original POPS/SOS/JOS/JOES registration name along with a married name. Type or print all entries. Process this form within 30 days of the event and mail along with a photograph of the completed formation to Alicia Moorehead, POPS/SOS/JOS Awards Coordinator, 3350 St Francis Place, Long Beach, CA, USA 90805-3854. Award certificates will be sent to event organizer for distribution.

 

I certify that I have checked each jumpers POPS/SOS/JOS/JOES number and name against the POPS/SOS/JOS/JOES membership roster and confirm that each jumper was a POPS/SOS/JOSJOES member or completed a POPS/SOS/JOS/JOES registration form before the aircraft left the ground.

 

I also certify that the freefall formation completed was exactly the same as the dirt dive plan, with every jumper

slot and grip perfect and that the completed freefall formation was held a minimum of 3 seconds.

LOAD ORGANIZER TIPS

 

Award certificates will be sent to the organizer for distribution.

 

To reduce your workload and expense, consider the following:

  • Assess a registration fee to cover the cost of 8x11 envelopes, postage, address labels, photographs.
  • BEFORE THE JUMP, have each jumper PRINT a self addressed address label for use on the award certificate envelopes. After the jump, people scatter leaving the organizer with the workload.
  • Check POPS/SOS/JOS/JOES numbers for accuracy. Errors or nonmembers invalidate the record.

 

BEFORE THE RECORD ATTEMPT contact the TOP POP or the AWARDS COORDINATOR for a complete outline of record requirements.

 

BRIEFLY, record requirements are:

  • Jumped as planned with all grips and slots.
  • Held a minimum of 3 seconds.
  • Photograph of the completed formation.
  • Complete the record application form.

 

During any record attempt, the only jumpers permitted on the load are the record participants and the camera flyer(s). No other jumpers may exit with the record group.

 

Photographers should be informed that the photo must be taken from above the formation. The photo must show all slots and grips completed as dirt dived. Horizontal photos do not show all grips simultaneously and may not be accepted to verify the record formation.

 

Only one record may be claimed per jump. No progressive add-on slots permitted.

 

Individual 8 way awards may also be claimed on the record jump by filing the 8 way form.

The organizer is encouraged to send an article, with photographs, to Parachutist and Skydiving magazines.

 

Double check the spelling of all names. Clearly print or type all names. A $5.00 per certificate charge will be assessed for a complete reprint of all certificates if the error appears on the record application.

 

EVENTS CONSIDERED HAZARDOUS OR ILLEGAL WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR RECORD ENTRY.
